Primary target audience Research

Because of the fact that Alternative Rock has a lot of sub-genres it is able to reach a wide variety when it comes to a target audience, some questions that could be asked to possible target audience members would be:

- What interests you in a music video?
- Do you prefer the performance or the narrative in Alternative Rock videos? etc.

Responses to these questions show that the majority of our target audience are between 16-21 which fits the teenager/young adult region, normally around working class who would spend a lot of their free time socializing/going to concerts etc. So the video will have elements that are interesting to our target audience that they can hold a conversation with their peers over so the videos have to grab their attention in a way that either interests them or that the viewer them self can relate to moments in the lyrics. Our video's lyrics contains three different story lines to follow which I believe is a good way to grab a more wider range of people who might relate or be interested in either of the stories in the song. A good example of a song that has lyrics that might be relatable or interesting to our target audience would be Twenty One Pilot's 'Migrane'

In my opinion the song has a negative feel to the lyrics although the beat and tune of the song is quite up beat and jumpy which might be an element in what grabs the viewers attention in Alternative Rock songs
