Storyboards - Both Rough and Final

Storyboard No.1
The film begins with a shot of a radio on the ground, with someone's hand fiddling about with the dials on the radio, the scene then switches to a long shot of the band members playing in a forest while the introduction music plays. Once the lyrics start, the scene will switch to inside the young girl's (Freya Clarke) house and will show the parents arguing and we can see the young girl sitting on the stairs behind them, clearly upset. The following line in the lyrics will switch the scene over to a mans arm falling to the side of the bed (We've called this shot 'Generic Dead Guy Arm-Fall').

The next scene will show two friends standing outside a building, one is encouraging the other to go inside. Then the beginning of the verse based around the little girl begins and a flash will be shown to represent the flashback and we can see the girl walking up to the door of her house and entering to see her parents arguing, another flash will take us to her room where the little girl is standing in front of a mirror and she'll be looking at the reflection which will show her as a teenager (Jade Clarke) and then the image will switch so that the teenager is the one looking in the mirror at the little girl.

Storyboard No.2

The next scene is the front view of the young girl/teenagers house and we can see the teenager standing at her window, the window is open. The scene will change just as we can see the teenager jumping out the window. The next scene (used as a sort of scene-change/intermission) is back at the forest where the band are playing briefly before switching to the verse based around the clown (Lewis Hodson) and the first scene for the verse will show the petrol meter in a car which will be on empty before switching to an outside view of the car which shows the clown sitting in the car looking annoyed/fed-up. The scene switches to inside the car where we can see the clown reach into the glove compartment of the car and pull out an item although the item will be concealed and out of the viewers vision to create enigma. The next scene shows the clown sitting in the forest leaning against the tree with a gun in his mouth, the scene then zooms into the clown just before he pulls the trigger we can see someone's hand come into the shot moving towards his hand before the scene switches back to the intermission shot of the band playing in the forest.

Storyboard No.3

The intermission scene with the band plays carries on with close-ups of the guitar player. Once the intermission scene is done the verse with the man dying will begin, the scene will switch into a young boys (Jared Dawson) house which will be based in the kitchen, his dad will be washing up dishes and the boy will be sitting on the table in the kitchen, the dad will then get a phone call and will look at his son worriedly. The scene changes to the young boy and his dad entering a house and will show the dad running up the stairs, the young boy following after him until they reach the door of a bedroom and the back of the dad can be seen entering the room.

Storyboard No.4
For the final sheet of storyboards, a flash will be played (signifying a flashback) and the scene shows the young boy (Jared Dawson) sitting at the bottom of the bed with the dead man in it, crying. The scene then switches to zoom into the little boy, his back facing the camera as it pans round to his face we will see that the boy is the lead singer of the band (James Ward). Another flash leads the scene to the teenager and she is lying on the floor looking up at a teenage guy (James Hunter), the scene then changes to the girl's point of view as she is looking up at the guy who is holding his hand out for her to help her up, which she takes before another flash is shown and the scene changes to the clown with the gun as his friend hits the gun out of his hands before he can pull the trigger to commit suicide, the friend then puts a hand on the clown's shoulder and gives him a reassuring smile. A final flash takes us back to the scene with the boy at the bed although this time it is the singer at the bottom of the bed before the scene changes finally back to the band in the forest which has a load of people partying while the band p[lays and then the screen fades to black for the finish.

  1. Pretty good but why hide camera shots & movements?

If you're going to include both drafts then talk over the changes made between both.
